He confirmed that the Ukrainian armed forces killed the commander of the 49th Army of the Southern Military District of Russia Yakov Rezantsev. The attack was carried out at the airdrome of Chornobayivka in the Kherson region.
According to Arestovych, the soldiers of the 7th Airborne Division of the Russian Federation, who were at the airdrome at the time of the attack, were probably also killed.
It is known that the 49th All-Russian Army is stationed in Stavropol. Yakov Rezantsev became its commander in August 2020. He had previously fought in the Syria war.
Oleksiy Arestovych said that the situation in the Kyiv region remains inconsistent. Thus, Ukraine has had some successes in the northwestern and northeastern directions of the region. But in the north of the Kyiv region, a strong group of Russian troops remains at its positions.
